MOVE Olympics Week at Ysgol Y Gogarth

The week of 4th to 8th November marked an exhilarating and inclusive MOVE Olympics Week at Ysgol Y Gogarth. Pupils from various classes, including Syberi, Cowlyd, Moelwyn, Preseli, Cwm Idwal, Crafnant, Alaw, Gwynant, and Cedryn, participated in a range of exciting sports and activities designed to promote physical engagement, teamwork, and fun.



Highlights of the Week

Throughout the week, students demonstrated incredible enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and determination as they competed in the following activities:

  • Swimming

  • Beach Volleyball

  • Trampoline

  • Basketball

  • Boccia/Table Cricket

  • Archery/Javelin

  • Bikes



The MOVE Olympics celebrated the abilities of every pupil, fostering inclusion, teamwork, and confidence through engaging physical activities. Each class embraced the spirit of friendly competition, with staff providing crucial support to ensure all students thrived.


The week was a resounding success, showcasing the importance of physical activity and a united school community. A thank you to all participants and staff, who made the event unforgettable. Special thanks to Odine Matscheroth for her dedication and enthusiasm, which greatly contributed to the event’s success and joy for all involved, and a massive thank you to MKM in Llandudno Junction who donated the sand.
