BFI Film Academy Finale!

Celebrations abound!  The BFI Film Academy Short Course, delivered by TAPE, has come to a triumphant close.  For the first time ever, this prestigious program was transformed into an afterschool club, opening doors to promote and support inclusive opportunities in the screen industries.

Hosted at Ysgol Y Gogarth in Llandudno, students from Gogarth worked alongside pupils from other schools and home-educated young people, creating two fantastic films, earning qualifications, and becoming BFI Alumni.

This course serves as a gateway to the screen industries, with many participants already diving into specialized residential courses.

The grand finale took place at the newly opened Ty Morgan building at Ysgol Y Gogarth, where proud parents and siblings joined the young filmmakers in celebrating their achievements.  This special event was followed by another showcase at Pontio in Bangor, where the students' films were featured alongside works by young filmmakers from across Wales.

Steve Swindon, TAPE founder and Creative Director, expressed his delight: "This has been a huge success for TAPE and for the BFI. The films the young people have made are fantastic, and seeing them with an audience, alongside the filmmakers, has been a wonderful experience for everyone involved."
