Matthew Lokier has participated in the Walk for Autism 2023 challenge between March 1 and April 2 last year, completing 303,011 steps and raising over £700 for Autism Initiatives.

Matthew's story inspired the charity to use him as the face of this year's campaign.

Matthew's mother, Anwen Lokier, expressed her pride in Matthew's achievement. She revealed that Autism Initiatives was so impressed with Matthew's story that it is included in the packs sent to everyone who registers for the challenge this year. The pack details Matthew's eight-day journey of raising money, private sponsorship, a letter from his MP, and more.

The Walk for Autism 2024 challenge will take place between March 26 and April 2, 2024, but Matthew plans to start his own steps challenge on March 1 to mark Autism Awareness Day. Anwen encourages anyone willing to sponsor Matthew for this year's challenge to come forward.
