The Ysgol Y Gogarth School prom was a night filled with joy, laughter, and memorable moments for the Class of 2024. Held on Thursday 11th, the event was a celebration of the students' journey and achievements, bringing together the school community for an unforgettable evening.
The Class of 2024, consisting of Jason, Brendan, Nathan, Thomas M, Thomas B, Iwan, James, Jade, Serena, Megan, Emma, Liam, Sam, Mollie, Steven, Lewis, Nathan, Ifan, and Josh, were the stars of the night. Each student shone brightly, dressed to impress and ready to celebrate the end of their school years.
The celebrations began with a special tour of Llandudno on an open-top double-decker bus. The students delighted in taking photos with their friends, capturing the scenic views, and enthusiastic waving to onlookers along the promenade and throughout the town.
Back at the school, the venue was transformed into a magical prom setting, thanks to the incredible dedication and hard work of the staff and parents. A massive thank you goes out to organisers Angharad and Mrs. J. Bellis, the Parents and Staff Friends Association (PSFA), and everyone who contributed to the event's success. Staff members donated prom dresses and suits, crafted beautiful decorations, and blew up what seemed like an endless number of balloons. They applied makeup, curled hair (covering Ty Morgan in glitter and hairspray), made 345 sandwiches, provided lessons in glitter art, created mocktails, and even made a set of stocks, volunteering to be drenched in water by the pupils.
The parents played an invaluable role, helping decorate the school, donating decorations and a candy floss machine, and setting up everything. They were a huge help in the afternoon, joining in the hair curling and ensuring every detail was perfect. The PSFA also kindly loaned the karaoke machine, which was a huge hit with the pupils.
The dedication didn’t stop there. Staff members learned the art of making candy floss, decorated the school, and prepared leaver gift bags. They also created social stories, helped on the night, and cleared up afterwards. The extraordinary effort from the staff ensured the event ran smoothly and was enjoyable for everyone.
The evening was further enriched with exciting activities, including games, glitter painting, a photo booth, and a lively disco and karaoke session. Photographers Graham, Gaz, and Caitlyn were on hand to capture every special moment of the evening, providing stunning photographs that will serve as cherished memories for the students and their families.
The prom was not only a celebration but also a testament to the strong sense of community at Ysgol Y Gogarth. The collaborative effort of the staff, and students made the event a resounding success, leaving everyone with fond memories of a wonderful night.
Congratulations to the Ysgol Y Gogarth Class of 2024, and thank you to everyone who made the prom an extraordinary celebration!
