The Voice of the Children

GBo760RW4AAxvl4.jfif

There are pupil representatives on the Student Council from the Senior and Junior department of the school. The council meet weekly and discuss issues raised by the pupils throughout the school. The pupils are encouraged to speak to the student council representatives before the meeting about matters they want discussed or to write down as a class any concerns they want raised.

Mr Morgan's Champions

We had an amazing time celebrating and remembering our late headmaster, Mr. Morgan. The classes came dressed up in bright colours and enthusiastically participated in our fun race. The spirit and energy were truly infectious!

"We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all, for a brilliant day.

This event wouldn't have been possible without the true Gogarth Team spirit. A big thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. We had so many of you give up your time, and your efforts are deeply appreciated. On behalf of myself and the school council – Diolch yn fawr to everyone, and congratulations to all who took part!" Christmas Tree

Today some of the school council were invited to decorate a Christmas Tree for St Davids Hospice Christmas Tree Festival in St John's Church, Llandudno. We decided on an 'Alice in Wonderland' theme. A big thank you to Excell supply for donating the Christmas tree.

Children in Need

The school council would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, parents, staff and students for helping to raise funds for a fantastic cause. It was wonderful to see everyone take part in the Danceathon and so many dressed up on the day. The final amount raised was £200.

Red Nose Day

The school Council organised a fun-filled, fundraising event with students in colourful outfits and wild hairstyles.

The student council-run café, offering teas, coffees, and homemade cakes donated by staff and parents, was a hit. Highlights included Kerrie Hopwood's award-winning cake and a staff/student quiz won by Dosbarth Tal-Y-Fan and Dosbarth Peris. The event ended with a sense of pride and accomplishment for the student council's hard work and dedication to a worthy cause.

Ty Morgan

We have been working on changing the CDC Centre into a community based Centre and are looking forward to sharing the details with you in the new year. We visited Tape to get some ideas of what a community base Centre looks and feels like.

Ty Morgan Opening

The student council attended the grand opening of the new community hub, Ty Morgan. Their presence symbolised the student body's commitment to embracing opportunities for growth and collaboration within the community. As ambassadors of their peers, they expressed enthusiasm for the potential benefits this new facility will bring to our school.

School Expectations

We have also come up with a new logo for our 3 school expectations and have had several design sessions and in depth discussions on what would work well for Ysgol Y Gogarth.
