Activities
We regularly invite parents and carers into school to attend coffee mornings, workshops and training. There is always a warm welcome to everyone. A big thank you to all for attending and supporting our events in school.
Coffee Morning
We held our first coffee morning on the 4th of September, which was extremley well attended. It was an opportunity to get together to chat to other parents following the summer holiday.
Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Services (CALDS) Team
On Thursday, 1st of October, Helena Tallon (Senior Clinical Psychologist) who works with the Child and Adolescent Learning Disabilities Service (CALDS) joined us for our coffee morning.
Helena was interested in finding out about the experiences of parents caring for a child with learning disabilities, and was keen to think of how the service could support parents more.
Technology Morning
On Monday 9th of November we held our first technology morning. It was an opportunity for parents and carers to play and explore the technologies available to the pupils in the school. It was a fantastic turnout! 3D technology, Raspberry Pi, switches and Purple mash were just a few introduced. Thank you to everybody that came along.
Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
On Wednesday 18th of November we were joined in the afternoon by Sandy and Jayne from the Citizens Advice Bureau and Moneywise. Thank you to the both of you for coming along! We hope that you will be able to come in again in the future.
Carers Trust North Wales Crossroads Care Service
A big thank you to Evie who came on Tuesday, 24th of November to explain her role as the childcare co-ordinator for Conwy Crossroads, and how the service worked to help support families. I would also like to thank all that attended.
Our first fun fitness session with Emily from CTC fitness
What a fantastic session today Thursday, 26th of November! We had lots of fun with Emily introducing us to weighted hoola-hoops and Zumba. A very big thank you to the parents that attended, same time next week!
Child and Adolescent Learning Disability Services and Speech and Language Team
On Wednesday, 2nd of December Helena Tallon and Patrick Howells from CALDS were kind enough to join us again, talking with parents, discussing how their services could be improved upon from a parental view point as well as suggesting other services and ideas that would be useful to families.
Fiona Lloyd and Fiona Luff, Speech and Language Therapists and Claire Huws Speech and Language Therapist assistant were also present for the session to introduce themselves to parents as well as explaining how their roles work and how the communication cycle worked.

Christmas crafts in Dosbarth Syberi
Parents of Dosbarth Syberi children were invited in on Monday the 14th of December to have fun with their child making lots of different and lovely Christmas crafts. There was a great deal of glittery fun involved!
Introduction to the PODD book
Monday 11th of January, 2016 Parents and Carers were invited into school to be introduced to the PODD book. It was an opportunity to familiarize themselves and to ask questions and to see how by using the PODD book their child could be supported with their communication.
MAKATON foundation workshop
On the 18th and 19th of January we held a two day MAKATON foundation workshop for a small group consisting of parents and professionals.
Debs Pollard was our amazing tutor and AFASIC kindly provided the workbooks.
It was a fantastic two days!
